Hotel Room Oddities (Part 2)

I'm starting a new post theme on my blog. "Hotel Oddities."  I called this one part 2, because I think the Trouser Press referenced here counts as Part 1.
This TV volume control was discovered at the Embassy Suites in Texas.  It controls the bedroom TV volume.
THIS WAS IN THE BATHROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not to mention, the room has obviously been upgraded to new (big!) flat screen TV's.  I can't even begin to fathom how this would work on them. To be honest, I can't even figure out how it would have worked on an older TV.  Why would they even keep this thing installed in the bathroom??!!!  I am totally stumped.  Please, if you can tell me anything about this, please do!!!

Well duh, OBviously that's for when you're taking a relaxing bath and listening to your favorite show at the same time but then the phone rings and it's your boss so you have to turn the tv down since you told him you'd be working all night on those tps reports. It totes works with widescreens too.
